Why I Blended Haircare, Nutrition, and Holistic Health

When I first became a cosmetologist, my focus was simple: help people feel confident and beautiful through their hair. I loved creating color, styles, and transformations, and I still do! But over time, I started seeing a deeper story. Clients would come in struggling with shedding, thinning, breakage, or scalp irritation, and I realized that no matter how skilled I was behind the chair, some of these challenges weren’t “just hair problems.”

They were health problems showing up on the scalp.

Following the Clues

I started noticing patterns.

The client with constant dandruff also had digestive issues.

The client with thinning edges was always exhausted.

Someone’s eczema flare-ups always aligned with stress or diet changes.

Those moments sparked a question in me: What if hair health isn’t just about products and treatments? What if it’s a window into what’s going on inside the body? That question led me down a path of study, research, and training that completely changed my career.

Becoming a Certified Functional Trichologist

I dove into trichology - the science of the hair and scalp - and became a Certified Functional Trichologist. This gave me the tools to understand how nutrition, hormones, and gut health play a role in hair loss and scalp conditions.

I didn’t stop there. I also became certified under the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP), which allows me to create nutritional support plans, herbal protocols, and supplement recommendations as part of my holistic approach.

Now, when someone sits in my chair, I don’t just see a head of hair. I see a whole person whose hair is speaking volumes about their health.

Why This Blend Matters

By blending cosmetology, nutrition, and holistic health, I’m able to:
- Address hair concerns from the inside out
- Create customized plans (not cookie-cutter solutions)
- Support clients alongside their doctors (never replacing medical care)
- Help people understand their bodies better while restoring confidence

For me, this work is about so much more than hair. It’s about helping people reconnect with themselves and feel good in their skin.

What It Means for You

When you come to me for a consultation, you get the best of both worlds:
- A cosmetologist who can style, color, and care for your hair
- A functional trichologist who understands the root causes behind your scalp or hair loss concerns
- A holistic health practitioner who can create a plan that supports your whole body

Because healthy hair starts with a healthy you.
